Hi, I’m Bobby, the creator of debonton.
Welcome to debonton.no! Let me take a moment to share the story behind this blog and why it exists.
As far back as I can remember, I’ve been passionate about menswear. Growing up in France, I spent years browsing style blogs, reading books and magazines, listening to podcasts, watching YouTube videos, and exchanging ideas with fellow enthusiasts. This journey taught me many practical things: what makes a great suit, how quality shoes are constructed, which clothes work well together, how to mix colors, and how to style outfits to be visually appealing.
But most importantly, I came to understand the deeper value of dressing well. It’s not just about appearances; it’s about how clothing can shape the way you feel and experience the world. I truly believe that thoughtful style, quality fabrics, and well-cut garments can transform your posture, your mood, and the way you carry yourself: Nearly every man has felt how a well-fitting suit can boost confidence and change how he walks into a room.
The way you dress offers a glimpse into your inner world, and at the same time, clothes have the power to shape it. Style is a true extension of who you are.
When I arrived in Oslo, I looked for quality resources about the local menswear scene but found very few, especially in English. I felt something was missing here. At the same time, I was exploring a new city and discovering a vibrant style culture. I found awesome brands I’d never heard of, an impressive number of vintage shops, and a surprising number of men who dressed with care. I was pleased to see more suits on the streets of Oslo than I ever did in Nice!
My solution was to create debonton. This blog is my way of connecting the world I came from with the one I am learning to understand. It brings together everything I’ve learned about style, menswear, and elegance, while exploring the unique character of Norwegian menswear. It’s a place to share discoveries, highlight good brands, and explore what makes a great wardrobe.
If I had to sum up my purpose, it would be this: I’m here to help men feel their best through the clothes they choose. So whether you’re already deep into menswear or just starting to think more about how you dress, I hope this blog offers something valuable.
